WLn-ABOARD is designed for ground or on-board railway applications.
Thanks to a dual radio design, WLn-ABOARD can operate simultaneously two separate networks for carriage bridging and in-carriage communication without sacrificing speed and provide a secure and continuous highly-available wireless connection. WLn-ABOARD enables operators to improve mobile communications in motion and develop a wide range of new in-vehicle networking applications such as wireless Internet access, Voice over IP (VoIP), passenger Wi-Fi services, streaming video surveillance and smart vehicle diagnostic/maintenance.

Based on the 802.11n standard, the WLn-ABOARD takes full advantage of the MIMO technology: high throughput (up to 2 x 300 Mbps) and robustness of the wireless communication. Its dual radio design allows many topologies: redundant WiFi network, management of two independent WiFi networks, 2.4 and/or 5GHz simultaneous communication and static or dynamic (based on IEEE802.11s) Mesh topologies.
To ensure a continuous transmission of data even in motion, the roaming performances of WLn-ABOARD have been optimized: handover = 30 ms in dual RF mode.

Designed with a rugged aluminum enclosure and robust Ultra-Lock® M12 connectors, it fulfills the most severe requirements in terms of operating environment (shockproof and vibration proof, EN50155 compliant for railway applications). Weatherproof (IP66), it resists to water projections and can works in tough climatic conditions from -25°C to +70°C or in extreme climatic conditions (-55°C to +75°).
